In-Formation: The Work of Fredric Levrat
NYIT was pleased to feature the work of architect Fredric Levrat on its Old Westbury campus from Feb. 14 - March 15 of this year. Levrat is a New York-based Swiss architect whose work explores the relationship between form and program. He is particularly interested in considering how representation and information condition the design of buildings, and has taken on a variety of projects that examine the evolving character of the contemporary urban condition. During the 1990s, his work questioned inherited ideas about volume, surface, materiality, and virtuality. More recently, his projects in Afghanistan and proposals for the city of Dubai have closely considered ideas about identity and cultural difference.
