NYIT Solar Decathlon "OPEN" house to anchor Long Island "energy park"

"This solar house addresses a critical local, regional and national need that becomes more apparent every day," NYIT president Edward Guiliano said yesterday at a news conference in Long Beach. It is an example of how Long Island "can connect with the larger world and the larger needs of the 21st-century society," he said.


The house will be the first fully operational green governmental office on Long Island, Town of Hempstead Supervisor Kate Murray said. It is expected to be in use in February.
