Media Management
Media management, a specialization of the communication arts master's degree program, is offered at the Manhattan campus, which is surrounded by scores of major companies dedicated to media creation, production, advertising, distribution and sales. Our students have secured top positions in some of the largest media corporations in America. This specialization is also offered at some of our off-site campuses.
Chinese
The emphasis of Beginning Chinese I is to develop conversational skills in Chinese. The course teaches Modern Standard Chinese, the official language of the People's Republic of China and Taiwan. The dialect taught in this course is Mandarin. The course also provides opportunities for students to develop basic reading skills needed to function in contemporary China. Background information on China's history, culture and society will be introduced as an element of the course. No pre-requisite required.
Arabic
The Arabic course is a semester-long elementary course of Arabic as a living language. It introduces students to the four language skills—listening, speaking, reading and writing. Instruction includes initiating and responding to a conversation, reading short passages and writing simple compositions. The course touches on aspects of the culture and exposes students to authentic materials such as audio, video and text. Previous knowledge of Arabic is not required.
