NYIT Falls to Dowling 89-64; Lose Fifth Straight

Oakdale, NY: Dowling College had six players score in double figures as they cruised to an 89-64 win over NYIT in a NYCAC match-up. The loss drops NYIT to 4-6 on the season, 3-4 in the NYCAC. With the victory, Dowling improves to 6-3 overall, 5-1 in the conference.

Dowling controlled from the opening tip, building a 46-29 advantage heading into halftime. Zulmary Andino poured in 20 points and Mellissa Danchalski added 15 points with a game high 15 rebounds for Dowling.

NYIT’s Tamika Cox (Long Island City, NY) recorded her first double-double of the season, scoring a game high 21 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Tymesia James (San Antonio, TX) chipped in with 13 points in the loss.

The Lady Bears return to action this Saturday, January 11 when they host Concordia College at 2:00pm.
