NYIT Defeats Mercy College 69-51

Old Westbury, NY: The New York Institute of Technology Lady Bears (9-8, 8-6 NYCAC) defeated the Mercy College Lady Flyers (4-14, 4-11 NYCAC) 69-51 for their second consecutive victory. Junior Georgia Gordon (St. Ann, Jamaica) scored a game high 17 points, grabbed nine boards and added seven steals as the Lady Bears won for the fifth time in the last six games.

NYIT held a slim 30-28 advantage at the half despite holding Mercy to a 36% shooting percentage from the floor. The Lady Bears continued their stellar defense in the second half holding Mercy to the same shooting percentage, while their offense improved. NYIT shot 56% from the floor, connecting on 13 of 23 shots and outscored the Lady Flyers 39-23.

Lindsay Klimkowski (Syosset, NY) scored a season high 15 points and added four assists, and Christina Papadapoulou (Nicosia, Cyprus) chipped in with 10 points and five assists.
