NYIT Relinquishes Late Lead And
Drops 79-58 To Philadelphia University
Philadelphia, PA: NYIT dropped a 79-58 decision to the Philadelphia University
Lady Rams tonight, blowing a five point lead with just under 10 minutes remaining
in the game. NYIT falls to 11-13 on the season, 10-11 in the NYCAC. The Lady
Rams improve to 16-6 overall, 14-6 in the conference.
NYIT found themselves down
just 31-30 at the half and in the second half, took a five point lead with just
under 10 minutes remaining. However Philadelphia stepped up their play in the last 10 minutes, and
outscored the Lady Bears by 20 points, 48-28, in the second stanza.
Georgia Gordon (St. Ann, Jamaica) was the lone NYIT athlete score double figures, as
she recorded her 19th double-double of the season, scoring 17 points
and grabbing 12 rebounds.
Samara Speakes
led Philadelphia with a game high 12 points.
The Bears return to action this
Saturday, February 22 when they travel to Molloy College for a 3:00 p.m. game.
