Master of Science in Instructional Technology


Program Description

NYIT's Professional Trainers master's program in Instructional Technology develops expertise in learning and performance improvement in organizational settings. Graduates work in a variety of corporate and industrial settings, as well as educational, private, not-for-profit, public service and government sectors. They serve as trainers, instructional designers, internal and external consultants, as well as learning and e-learning specialists.

The program is a unique blend of study and practice focused on human, organizational and technological elements in real-world projects. Initial courses develop expertise in needs assessment, instructional design, implementation, and evaluation and provide a foundation in instructional technologies. Next, students apply principles of learning, performance in organizations, and design, develop and implement effective learning modules incorporating group interaction, technology, skills practice, and evaluation.

The Professional Trainers program offers you :

  • A 36-credit Master of Science degree in Instructional Technology
  • Experience and expertise as a training and performance improvement professional
  • Proficiency in the integration of instructional technology for learning applications
  • Experience with tools of problem solving and communication in industry and government..
  • Professional development for key roles as an internal consultant or e-learning specialist

Several three-course (9 credit) graduate certificate programs are available. These include: Training and Performance and Learning Technologies . Only one graduate certificate can be obtained without full admission and matriculation. The certificate program can be completed over several semesters and can be applied toward the full M.S. degree.
