Admission Requirements
Candidates must have:
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited
college or university with a major or its equivalent (a
minimum of 30 credits in a concentration) in one of the
following areas: Biology, Chemistry, Economics, English,
History, Life Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Psychology.
- A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0. (Candidates
with GPA under 3.0 may be admitted under special circumstances.

- Completed the general education
core required for childhood education certification by successfully
taking college-level courses in English (6 credits), social
studies (6 credits), science (6 credits), mathematics (6
credits), a language other than English (6 credits), and
a form of creative expression (3 credits). (Otherwise, qualified
candidates may be admitted to the program and make up deficits
in general education in one or two areas.)
- Provided evidence of a passing score
on the Liberal Arts and Sciences Test (LAST) of the New
York State Teacher Certification Examination. (Candidate
may be conditionally admitted pending reciept of passing
