This program is designed to assist military personnel separating from service in the pursuit of a second career as a public school teacher. Public school districts gain the opportunity to engage and benefit from the skills, education, and experience of mature, motivated, experienced, and dedicated personnel. Military personnel and others seeking careers in public education receive help from Troops to Teachers in their efforts to attain an appropriate New York State teaching certificate and employment in public schools throughout New York.
