Visit Fine Arts at NYIT Old Westbury
The Fine Arts Department is located in the Midge Karr Fine Arts and Design Center located in the southwest section of the campus. Directions to the NYIT Old Westbury campus are included below:
By Car
EAST from New York City and points west via the Long Island Expressway (I-495)
Take the Long Island Expressway (I-495) east to Exit 39, Glen Cove Road. From the exit ramp, turn left onto Glen Cove Road—you'll be heading north. Travel north on Glen Cove Road for approximately 2 miles. Turn right at Northern Boulevard (Route 25A)—you'll be heading east. The Old Westbury campus entrance is at the third traffic light on your right.
EAST from New York City and points west via the Northern Parkway
Take the Northern Parkway to Exit 31, Glen Cove Road. From the exit ramp, turn left onto Glen Cove Road—you'll be heading north. Travel north on Glen Cove Road for approximately 4 miles. Turn right at Northern Boulevard (Route 25A)—you'll be heading east. The Old Westbury campus entrance is at the third traffic light on your right.
WEST from Suffolk County via the Long Island Expressway (I-495)
Take the Long Island Expressway (I-495) west to Exit 41N, Route 106/107 North. From the exit ramp, turn right onto Route 106/107—you'll be heading north. After approximately a half-mile, this road divides—stay to the left for Route 107. Travel north on Route 107 for approximately 3 miles. Turn left at Northern Boulevard (Route 25A)—you'll be heading west. The Old Westbury campus entrance is at the fourth traffic light on your left.
WEST from Suffolk County via the Northern Parkway
Take the Northern Parkway west to Exit 35N, Route 106/107 North. From the exit ramp, turn right onto Route 106/107—you'll be heading north. After approximately three-quarters of a mile, this road divides—stay to the left for Route 107. Travel north on Route 107 for approximately 3 miles. Turn left at Northern Boulevard (Route 25A)—you'll be heading west. The Old Westbury campus entrance is at the fourth traffic light on your left.
NORTH from southern Queens, Brooklyn, Nassau and Suffolk
From southern Queens and Brooklyn, take the Cross-Island Parkway or the Clearview Expressway north to the Long Island Expressway (I-495) east. Then follow the directions for EAST from New York City and points west via the Long Island Expressway.
From southwestern or south central Nassau, take the Meadowbrook Parkway north to its merge with the Northern Parkway. When the road divides, bear left for Northern Parkway west to Exit 31, Glen Cove Road. Follow the ramp straight to the traffic light and turn left—you'll be heading north. Travel north on Glen Cove Road for approximately 4 miles to Northern Boulevard (Route 25A). Turn right on Northern Boulevard—you'll be heading east. The Old Westbury campus entrance is at the third traffic light on your right.
From southeastern Nassau or Suffolk, take the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway (Route 135) north to the Long Island Expressway (I-495). Then follow the directions for WEST from Suffolk County via the Long Island Expressway.
By Public Transportation
• Via Long Island Rail Road
The Long Island Rail Road operates out of Penn Station in Manhattan and Jamaica Station in Queens. Take a train from either location (ask station personnel or visit LIRR Web site for fare and schedule information) to Greenvale and take a taxi to campus; or to Hicksville and take Long Island Bus N20 to campus on weekdays only. From other Long Island locations, you will probably have to transfer at Jamaica to reach Greenvale; see the LIRR Web site for a complete system map and schedule information.
• Via Long Island Bus
The N20 bus travels via Northern Boulevard from Main Street in Flushing, Queens to Route 107 in Greenvale, then via 107 to the LIRR station in Hicksville, Nassau County. The bus stops at the Old Westbury campus at regularly scheduled intervals on weekdays only (call 516-766-6722 or visit the Long Island Bus Web site for fare and schedule information).
From Airports
• From JFK International Airport
Take the Belt Parkway east to the Cross Island Parkway north. From there, follow the driving directions for NORTH from southern Queens, Brooklyn, Nassau and Suffolk.
• From LaGuardia Airport
Take the Grand Central Parkway east, which becomes the Northern Parkway in Nassau County. Follow the directions for EAST from New York City and points west via the Northern Parkway.
• From Islip MacArthur Airport
Take the Southern Parkway west to the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway (Route 135) north. From there, follow the directions for NORTH from southern Queens, Brooklyn, Nassau and Suffolk.
Visit NYIT Fine Arts Manhattan

By Car
Parking Garages
The main entrance of the Manhattan campus is located at 1855 Broadway, between
60th and 61st Streets, near Columbus Circle. On-street parking at this location
is extremely rare, so you should use one of the two parking garages with
which NYIT has arranged for discounted rates:
Prior Parking is located at 40 W. 61st Street, between Broadway & 9th Avenue
(approximately 2 blocks from the Manhattan Campus); (212) 245-9594.
The Manhattan Parking System Mack Parking Inc. lot is located at 345 West 58th
Street (approximately 3 blocks from the Manhattan campus).
Be sure to have your parking ticket validated at the security desk of the Manhattan
campus in order to receive the discounted rate when you pick up your car.
By Public Transportation
• By Subway
The 8th Avenue line (A, C or E trains) and the Broadway line (1 train) stop at Columbus Circle, a half block away from the Manhattan campus entrance. These trains run at approximately 10-15 minute intervals throughout the day and evening. You can pick them up at Penn Station if you're traveling in by Long Island Rail Road, Amtrak or New Jersey Transit. If you're coming into Grand Central Station via Metro North Rail Road, take the 7 train or the S train (Grand Central to Times Square shuttle) to Times Square-42nd Street and transfer to one of the above lines.
• By Bus
The 57th Street and 66th Street crosstown buses travel from the east to the west side of Manhattan. Both buses stop at Broadway; walk from there to the Manhattan campus entrance (approximately 3 blocks from 57th Street and 5 blocks from 66th Street). The Broadway bus stops at the corner of Broadway and 60th Street, approximately a half block away from the campus entrance.
From Airports
Note: It is strongly recommended that you take public transportation or a taxi to the Manhattan campus, due to the lack of parking and the difficulty of driving in Manhattan if you are unfamiliar with the area.
• From JFK International Airport
Take the Van Wyck Expressway (I-678) north to the Long Island Expressway (I-495) west. Take the LIE to the Queens Midtown Tunnel into Manhattan. The campus is at 1855 Broadway, between 60th and 61st Streets, on the west side of Manhattan.
• From LaGuardia Airport
Take the Grand Central Parkway west to the Triborough Bridge into Manhattan. Take the Triborough to the FDR Drive south to the 59th Street exit. The campus is at 1855 Broadway, between 60th and 61st Streets, on the west side of Manhattan.
