Transition
The transition program introduces a modified major program to children between the ages of 8-9, wherein they attend activities with the major campers who are over 9. Transition campers select a major in one area of interest for three mornings a week. The remainder of the time is spent in a special program for the talented and motivated. This program is for children who want to make a gradual transition from the Rookie gifted program to the Major program the following year. The transition program is limited to children chosen by the Horizon administrative staff.
Transition campers select their programs daily and stay within their own age group, except when they go to their Monday through Wednesday morning area of specialization with majors campers.
