Site includes an internal search engine and a number of clickable resources. Unfortunately, some of the resources, such as the "Jobbank," cannot be accessed unless the user is a member. Other open access resources
include, but are not limited to, full text journals, down-loadable information and directories.

Bakery-Net
Users can register for a free membership to the network, thus allowing them full access to all of the resources available on this site. Resources include: industry news, classifieds, nutritional information, etc.

Chefnet.com
User-friendly, well organized and creative site which allows for easy access to the site’s resources such as the "Chefnet Bulletin board." The site includes a specialized web-based resource center designed specifically for women chefs.

Chefdirect
Allows the user to order culinary related clothing and supplies. Items available range from the standard to the whimsical. Site will be of most relevance to students and professionals, but the lay person will be able to find sometimes difficult to locate items as well.

Clemson Extension: Home and Garden Information Center
This site concentrates on food preservation. Clickable subject headings lead the user to articles and charts relating to the subject at hand.

Culinary History
Part of the New York Public Library’s website, users can access annotated information regarding works of historical significance in the culinary field. Many of these works are available in facsimile format at the Research Branch of the NYPL. Users can access these materials through the NYPL fee-based service agency. The site provides a direct link to this agency.

Epicurious.com
Interesting site with links to recipes, forums and shopping. The site is geared towards users who love cooking and good food; specifically the lay person, but the culinary student and professional will find some interesting
 information. Site is very user-friendly and gathered information can be personalized to some extent.

Escoffier On Line
User-friendly site which allows easy searching of its resources such as employment and education. Site also includes "Indexed Links" and an internal search engine at the "Employment" link. Users can also find links for equipment purchases, though the site professedly specializes in advertising employment opportunities. Site is geared to industry professionals and culinary students.

Food Institute Online
Site is geared to industry professionals and is important for culinary research. Some resources are not accessible to non-member and membership seems to be costly. Many of the site’s resources are, however, open access. Site includes a clickable index to additional open access material and services. Those resources which are not open access are clearly marked as Members Only (MO).

Food Safety and Inspection Service
Government site available through the Department of Agriculture. Users access timely information on important issues. Site contains links to news, publications, and food safety information. This site has far reaching importance to the food service professional as well as being useful to the public in general.

National Restaurant Association
Well-organized resource for students and professionals. User-friendly format allows easy access to
 resources such as industry research, information on starting and running a business, and industry related events. Users can also review information regarding industry specific journals. A "Government" link provides timely information on food service and professional issues.

Recipe Source
Over 70,000 recipes are organized into two main groups - recipes primarily identified with an ethnic cuisine are broken down by region and ethnic group, while other recipes are categorized by the type of dish. The site can also be searched by keyword.

Star Chefs
Site includes links to resources such as employment, chef Biographies, business tools, and industry news. This is a well-organized and user-friendly site. Users can sign up to receive free e-mail updates on site resources. Site will be of interest to students and industry professionals as well as those considering a career in the Culinary Arts.

Thomas Food Industry Register: Buyers Guide
This site is geared to the food industry professional and includes an internal search engine. Other resources include trade associations, product lines, and government resources.

U.S. Food and Drug Administration
Site includes an internal search engine which is also capable of advanced searching of documents by date. An index, site map, and clickable "Hot Topics"allow the user easy access to information pertinent to the food industry. This site is especially relevant to industry professionals as well as having significant value to the public in general.

Wine Spectator
User-friendly, comprehensive, and well-organized site. Users can access a wide variety of resources including employment opportunities, industry news, and dining features. The site’s "Library" allows users open access to full text articles from Wine Spectator from 1994 to the present. There is also a section called "Wine Basics," which includes open access to full text articles relating to wine.

Offers information through FAQs, columns, quizzes, a glossary, and e-mailing the experts directly. Managed by the Wine Market Council, a non-profit US trade organization.
