Well-organized, user-friendly site which will be of value to students,
educators, and the lay person, Researchers will find some resources
here as well. Site includes a search engine. Much of the information
found on this site is written in plain, easily understood language.
Greenpeace
Site is geared to organization based news and is therefore limited in
its usefulness outside of very specialized research. Site is well-organized
and user-friendly. Site includes an internal search engine.
National
Library for the Environment
Site includes an internal search engine of more than 800 Congressional
Reports, journals, some with open access, many allowing selected access.
Resources include but are not limited to links to grant providing foundations,
career resources, an internal "Reference Resources" search
engine, "Laws and Treaties", and an (Environmental) "Yellow
Pages".
USGS
Site is geared predominantly toward scholarly and specialized research.
Resources are well-organized and are found in a user-friendly format.
Much of the information is available to users as full-text documents.
Some links include their own internal search engines. Topics or research
are timely in nature.
World
Environmental Organization
"World Environmental Organization" lists links to 1000 "top
environmental sites." Also has environmental news, tips for sustainable
living, and information on how to recycle a variety of materials.
