The world's largest non-govermental organization publicizes the plight of political prisoners, lobbies against the death penalty, extra judicial executions, and other human rights issues.

Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development
Provides the 29 member governments with a forum in which to discuss, improve or revise economic and social policy.

Organization of American States
The OAS promotes economic and political cooperation among its 35 member nations; detailed information about the OAS and its goals including speeches, documents, and links to other inter-American organizations are provided.

Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC)
Comprised of eleven nations which derive their main source of income from petroleum, OPEC balances the interests of its members with those consumer nations whose consumption provides their principal revenue.

Oxfam International
Comprised of eleven non-governmental organizations, Oxfam's goal is to end the waste and injustice of poverty. Debt relief for poor nations, developing sustainable livelihoods for the people, provide basic social services, and giving emergency assistance for countries that are victims of natural disasters such as hurricanes, earthquakes, and droughts are some of the concerns of Oxfam.

United Nations Population Fund
This useful site is designed to provide assistance to "developing nations", and provides information on gender issues, population, development, family planning, and health issues such as AIDS. Some of its publications such as "State of World Population" are free and can be downloaded from the site.

World Bank
The bank provides development assistance to its clients so that economic stability and sustainable growth would reduce poverty.
