Campus Slate Digitization Project
Wisser
Library is in the process of digitizing all the issues of the Campus
Slate newspaper. So far, papers from 1968 to 1971 have been scanned.
Along with scanning the papers, the librarians are creating tags, or
standardized search terms, so that users can search for articles
concerning specific people, places, and events. The purpose of the
project is to preserve the newspapers, as older issues are deteriorating,
and to provide a means to search the content, creating a resource for the
history of the school. The Campus Slate database is available to
the NYIT community. If you are interested in access, contact the library
at 516.686.7657.
