Laptops and Reserve Books Regulations

There are 50 laptops available to borrow for three hours, renewals are allowed as needed. A $ 5.00 fine will be charged per hour for any laptop that is returned late.

The Reserve book collection is only for the use in the library and available for 3 hours. A $1.00 fine per hour will be charged if returned late.

Only a valid student ID card will be accepted for checkout.

Where should I look for available E-Books?

MDConsult: Includes over 50 medical books and journals, clinics, patient education, drugs information, images and more than 1000 clinical practice guidelines.

StatRef & StatRef 2: Include 35 e-book titles and resources such as MedCalc 3000, Stedman's dictionary and National Guideline Clearinghouse.

Harrison's Online: Featuring the complete contents of Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine, 17th Edition.

ID Cards Rules

According to the NYCOM student handbook, all the students are required to wear their ID badges at all times. This policy is being observed and enforced at the library. In order to use the material and facility and library resources, when you enter the library, please make sure you are wearing your ID to present at the desk if you are asked.

Loansome Doc is a tool to order articles via PubMed searches and the NLM Gateway which allows you to send your request directly to our Document Delivery Department. iPod Touch Mobile Applications

The medical library has developed a guide to selected mobile apps that can be accessed on the iPod Touch. These include core medical apps, clinical apps, medical calculators, study guides and so forth. To view the guide click here.

To set up your iPod Touch and link to NYIT Wireless follow these instructions.

The copy machines are located on the second level of the library. In order to use the photocopiers you will need to encode money on your ID card. An encoder machine is located in NYCOM II Cafeteria. You may also add funds to your cards by linking to onecard.nyit.edu .

 

 

New Enhancements

  • New search filters, citation management options, and a “widget” approach to results management that allow users to more quickly and efficiently take action on their results.
  • My Workspace, where you can organize all of your research materials—individual articles, search strategies, images, and more—into work projects.
  • Ovid Toolbar, a downloadable tool that lets you quickly and easily save critical research material to My Workspace.
  • “Drag-and-drop” customization features, consolidation of features and pages, and other interface enhancements.

  • Monday - Friday: 8am- Midnight
  • Saturday: 9am- Midnight
  • Sunday: 1pm- Midnight

Due to the Labor Day holiday, the library will be closed on Saturday September 4th through Monday September 6th.

We'll resume our normal hours on Tuesday September 7th.
