Library's Announcement Harrison's Online: The library has increased it's users licenses for Harrison's Online and it's available through the library web site. Are you looking for the journal that you need? Our journal collection is located on the second level down of the medical library and it's arranged alphabetically by title. We are in the process of shifting the journals and moving the older issues on some titles to the third level. If you have any difficulty locating a journal title, please don't hesitate to get assistance from one of the library staff. |

What's New on MedlinePlus? On December 13, NLM released another enhancement to its web-based consumer health resource. MedlinePlus now includes over 100 herbal and supplement monographs in English and Spanish from Natural Standard. Natural Standard is an evidence-based, peer-reviewed collection of information on alternative treatments. Each monograph includes a table of uses of the supplement based on scientific evidence. The herbal or supplement receives a grade ranging from A (strong scientific evidence for this use) to F (strong scientific evidence against this use) for diseases or conditions it treats. In addition, each monograph provides information on dosing, safety, interactions, and selected references. Many monographs also contain illustrations. You can bookmark this site by clicking on Natural Standard. |
Did you know... Exam Master has just released a board preparation product for the Physician Assistant Certifying (and Recertifying) Exam (PANCE/PANRE). The product follows the actual NCCPA exam content guidelines with a strong focus on tasks. Exam Master is available through the library web site. It requires an online registration for the first time users. Halloween contest The winner for our Halloween contest was Eleazer Mbekem. She received her Blockbuster gift certificate. We hope she enjoys it during the holidays.

Institute of Medicine of the National Academies has released a report which provides the most comprehensive review to date of the scientific evidence on the influence of food marketing on diets and diet-related health of children and youth.
