The National Library of Medicine has announced the publication Citing Medicine: the NLM Style Guide for Authors, Editors and Publishers. It offers guidance for 26 types of published and unpublished materials, from books and journal articles to Blogs and wikis. This service is free of charge at Citing Medicine. In our previous issue, we mentioned the new features of Ovid new interface that was going to go live in February 2008. The platform has a contemporary look and its enhancements include advanced search functionality, simultaneous searching across all content types, flexible result management and RSS feeds for customized alerting mechanism for content updates. The library is creating a video tutorial that will be up and running soon. NLM Drug Information Portal The National Library of Medicine has released the NLM Drug Information Portal. This resource provides the public, healthcare professionals, and researchers with a gateway to current and accurate drug information. More than 15,000 drugs are available for searching. A spell checker is provided. Information buttons and balloon pop-ups guide the user by providing helpful hints. Search results include links to related drug information in MedlinePlus, AIDSinfo, LactMed, HSDB, Dietary Supplements Labels Database, TOXLINE, DailyMed, PubChem and more. To browse click here. |

How to access full-text through PubMed?
When you are doing a literature search in PubMed and you want to access full-text, you need to access PubMed through NYCOM Medical Databases, because it creates a unique URL. If any of the above icons appear under the abstract, it means that the library has subscription to that citation either in print or online. If you click on the online icon, it'll link you to the full-text article. |

Ovid RSS Feeds is one of the most popular new features in OvidSP. If you like to save time getting the research you need, set up the RSS Feeds for automatic, regular delivery of important content such as: Journal eTOCs, saved searches and publish-Ahead-of-Print Journal eTOCs.
