In order to locate review books more easily, we have designated a separate area, which is the beginning of the book stacks, with an orange label arranged by subject. Interesting Web sites The National Library of Medicine (NLM) has released a new "Find a Hospital" directory search. From MedlinePlus, users can search for information on over 6,000 hospitals in the United States, including address, specialty, services provided, and driving directions. The National Library of Medicine (NLM) announces a new Web site to address the health concerns of the 4 million Americans who claim American Indian or Alaska Native ancestry. American Indian Health brings together pertinent health and medical resources, including consumer health information;environmental health information; the results of research; traditional healing resources; and links to other related Web sites. Library Hours for coming Holidays Thanksgiving Day: Library will be closed on Wednesday Nov. 24 - Sunday Nov. 28. We will resume normal hours on Monday November 29. Christmas Day:Library will be closed on Friday December 24- Sunday January 2. We will resume normal hours on January 3, 2005. Any other changes will be announced. |

Fiona Godlee and colleagues provide an optimistic view that requires the World Health Organization to take the lead and implement various initiatives in this work. Highlights in Science Study of Cell Breakdown Captures Nobel Modern biology focuses most of its attention on how things are built and created, but Dr. Aaron Ciechanover, 57 and Dr. Avram Hershko, 67 professors of biochemistry at the Technion Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa and Dr. Irwin A. Rose of California, Irvine worked on the opposite function of a cell: how it breaks down proteins that are damaged or have outlived their usefulness and won this year's Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
