Journal
Articles are good sources of current information.
The information in journal articles is so current
that it may not yet be available in books or reference
materials.
Journals
are issued regularly (this could be weekly, monthly
or quarterly) and are found in the
Periodicals Collection
of the Library

Other
items which are found in the Periodicals Collection include
newspapers, popular magazines and trade publications. Click

different types of periodicals.
Journal
articles are generally shorter publications than books.
Each issue of a journal will consist of several articles.
These articles need not be related to each other by content.
The articles themselves often assume some considerable background
knowledge of the area and they often focus on very specific
issues.
