The ability to search effectively for information using electronic resources is a necessary skill in the information age. The following will be considered:

  • Overview of Databases
  • Overview of the Web
  • Search strategies
  • Evaluating/Interpreting search results
  • Capturing electronic information
In this module, you will learn skills to:
  • Search for information using the most appropriate tool from a wide range of resources

  • Understand basic search concepts and be able to formulate search strategies

  • Use a variety of methods to find and retrieve information

  • Assess the adequacy of results and determine whether search strategies should be revised
