Nancy Cooper is both the Program Coordinator, HPF Writing Coordinator for the HPFP.

Nancy graduated from Ohio University in 1975 with a BachelorŐs of Education Degree and certifications to teach English, psychology, and reading. She has taught students at all levels, including reading to illiterate adults, psychology to inmates of the Hocking Correctional Facility, English to learning disabled and college prep high school students, and writing to both high school and university students.

She spent three years teaching technical report writing at Fairmont State College, Fairmont, West Virginia. For fifteen years she enjoyed working as a learning specialist to first and second-year medical students at the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Ms. Cooper took on the duties of coordinator of the Fellowship in January 2003. Her adjunct position as writing coordinator for the Osteopathic Heritage Health Policy Fellowship combines the best of both worlds: teaching writing skills that apply to the world of medicine.

In addition to working with the fellowship, Ms. Cooper serves as a volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate/Guardian ad Litem (CASA/GAL) for abused and neglected children in Athens County.
