Faculty, Health Policy Fellowship Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Blacksburg, Virginia Dr. Dubin received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Michigan University in 1969. He earned a D.O. degree from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1973. After completing a rotating internship program at Martin Place Hospital in Madison Heights Michigan in 1973, he then did an internal medicine residency that was completed in 1976. This was followed by a Fellowship Program in Allergy/Immunology at the National Jewish Hospital & Research Center/University of Colorado Medical Center from 1976-1978. Dr. Dubin was a member of the first Health Policy Fellowship Program at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Dubin also received a J.D. degree from the University of Detroit - Mercy School of Law in Detroit, Michigan Dr. Dubin is currently a member of the Board of Directors in CORE at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he has served for the past five years. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Consortium for Osteopathic Graduate Medical Education at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, as well as serving as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the university. For 14 years, Dr. Dubin was a member of the executive Board of Directors of the American Lung Association of Southeast Michigan. He is the founder and past Medical Director for Camp Sun Deer, a free camp for asthmatic Children. Currently, Dr. Dubin is a member and involved with the following medical organizations: International Society of Travel Medicine, American College of Legal Medicine, Institute for National Health Policy & Research, American Osteopathic Association, Association of Osteopathic Directors of Medical Education, Ohio Osteopathic Association, and the American College of Medical Quality. He has received several honors and awards including the following: the Phi Beta Delta International Scholars Honor Society, Society of Fellows from the National Jewish Hospital & Research Center, and Sigma Sigma Phi National Osteopathic Honor Fraternity. Dr. Dubin has had articles appear in publications such as Michigan Osteopathic Journal, Journal of the American Medical Association, Journal of the Michigan Osteopathic Association, Journal of the American Osteopathic Association and International Journal for Quality in Health Care. Presently, Dr. Dubin is the Associate Dean at the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio. He also enjoys a faculty appointment in the Department of Social Medicine at OUCOM as an Associate Professor of Medical Jurisprudence and Health Policy. He served as Vice-President of Medical Education at Grandview Hospital in Dayton, Ohio for three years. For seven years, he served as the Director of Medical Education at Oakland General Hospital in Michigan. He was the Director at the Center for Asthma, Emphysema and Allergic Disorders in Southfield, Michigan for more than ten years. Dr. Dubin has also been practicing law in his private practice since 1994. Dr. Dubin is a Fellow in the College of Legal Medicine. |
