Wireless Configuration for Mac OS X


Step 1 - Set the wireless network

Set the wireless connection either with the AirPort or the Browser

 
With AirPort Menu - Select the "NYIT" Network
  Make sure to select " Turn Airport On" before selecting the connection



 With a Browser - Select the "NYIT" Network
  Make sure to select " Turn Airport On" before selecting the connection



Step 2 - Open System Preferences from the Apple menu


Step 3 - Open System Preferences from the Apple menu

 A. Select Network. Click on the TCP/IP tab
 B. Set "Location:" to AutomaticC. Set "Show:" to AirPort
       If AirPort doesn't appear in the Show menu, choose Active Network Ports and activate Airport.
 D. Select the "TCP/IP" tab
 E. Set "Configure:" to Using DHCP
F. In the "Search Domains" box add "nyit.edu"





Step 4 - Open System Preferences from the Apple menu

 A. Select the "Proxies" tab
 B. Check the "Web Proxy (HTTP)" box
 C. Type in - "proxy.nyit.edu"
 D. Set " Port " to 80
 G. Click the Apply Now button at the bottom of the panel to save the changes you just made and
     quit the System Preferences application.





Step 5 -Open Browser and Log-In

 A. Enter your NYITConnect Username and Password


 B. "Click Here" to begin browsing
