Dear Donor,
Thank you. Your generous financial support continues to empower our students and give NYIT the opportunity to become a model for 21st-century higher education. Moreover, your commitment validates our belief that education will become the global currency that crosses borders and oceans, bringing solutions to society’s most difficult challenges.
Supporting higher education is crucial to the advancement of human civilization. As long as colleges and universities continue to remain havens that nurture intellectual discovery, students will always hold the keys to unlocking future know-ledge in areas that impact the entire planet. The profound changes that have taken place at NYIT in the past several years give us high hopes for the future as your donations continue to strengthen our academic programs and enhance the college’s image.
Giving to NYIT also allows our students to work with and understand the latest technologies, learn from faculty members who are top professionals in their fields, receive premium student services that enhance their college experience, and interact face to face and virtually with their peers.
Over the past year, NYIT and our students have made their presence known. We co-hosted an international energy conference that featured some of the brightest experts and key policy makers on that subject. As part of our 2030 strategic plan, we created our first interdisciplinary graduate center, the Center for Metropolitan Sustainability, to study green technology and alternative energy.
NYIT students worked on projects ranging from rebuilding a Shanghai waterfront property in China, to studying architectural designs in Italy and Germany, to participating in a workshop that fosters international cooperation and business communication skills.
In addition, our students designed and built a fully functional home for the 2007 Solar Decathlon in Washington, D.C. We’ve also had the opportunity to enhance dining services at our New York campuses, revamp the Office of Career Services to better assist students and alumni with professional counseling, and welcome visitors to an Old Westbury campus that now features a state-of-the-art athletics field and a nationally registered arboretum.
Our campuses in Asia and the Middle East continue to flourish. We recently opened the doors to our newest campus in Nanjing, China, and became the first licensed American university in the United Arab Emirates after a comprehensive review by the country’s Ministry of Education and Scientific Research.
Today, NYIT degrees are synonymous with technology-based, career-minded education that prepares graduates for the 21st century. When NYIT students earn their degrees, they are part of an inter-national network that stays with them for the rest of their careers.
This has all been made possible thanks to your outstanding support. Your generosity, along with our dedicated faculty, staff, and NYIT Board of Trustees, ensures that we will continue our mission to provide career-oriented, professional education to qualified students.
On behalf of 15,000 NYIT students, thank you.
