Energy management is a relatively new and rapidly expanding field that combines expertise in management practices and strategies as well as the technical aspects of mechanical and environmental engineering. Energy managers analyze and improve energy efficiency; implement organizational strategies for use of alternative energy sources; direct compliance with federal and local regulations regarding hazardous materials, indoor air quality and environmental impact; and develop policy in all these areas.
