Curriculum Requirements for the Advanced Certificate in Infrastructure Security Management
(Choose six courses from the following)
Prerequisite: A bachelor's degree is required for admission into this certificate program. A management or engineering background is desirable but not required. The Curriculum covers security systems and issues from a management perspective.
The School of Engineering and Technology of NYIT offers graduate-level certificate and degree programs for facility managers and environmental professionals. These programs emphasize effective security strategies for buildings, business assets and critical infrastructure.
The M.S. in Environmental Technology, and the M.S. in Energy Management, each offer a Concentration in Facility and Infrastructure Security. In addition, Certificate programs are also available in Facilities Management, Environmental Management, and Energy Technology (see Online and Onsite Certificates).
Modern facilities, and our infrastructure, depend on trained professionals to identify security concerns, and develop effective response strategies. These individuals use advanced technology for fire protection, crime prevention, and environmental monitoring. They ensure that critical systems, such as back-up power, life safety equipment, and water infrastructure, are fully operational and in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
The Infrastructure Security Management graduate courses are offered by the departments of Environmental Technology and Energy Management. For more information about degree and certificate requirements, please contact the departments directly:
