The interior space of the home will be unique and in harmony with the architecture of the home as well as the environment. The Interior Design students have taken environmental design to the next level by not only proposing distinctive space planning and interior design, but also unique furniture that will animate and condition the space. Each piece of furniture will be multi-functional suggesting an economy of materials for future homes; and each has been designed to create micro-environments, using features such as efficient LED-powered task lighting and integral air systems to affect comfort without resorting to large scale mechanical systems. The home will be welcoming and formed with a feel for cutting edge modern design.
The Interior Design team proposes that while sustainable interior design has to be sensitive to the environment in selection of material and economy, it can also become an active participant in the overall energy strategy of a home - and do it with style.
