Thomas Rochon received two bachelor's degrees -- architecture and architectural engineering --from the University of Miami. As an architect, he worked in Tunisia and designed numerous buildings for the Public Works Department and the Office of Tourism under the U.S. Peace Corps. He was an associate with Richard Moger FAIA, until he opened his SoHo office in 1976. Originally his company focused on recycling and rehabilitating old historic structures. He is co-founder of Fort Royal Foundation, Inc., a non-profit foundation specializing in preserving architecture and folklore of the Mohawk Valley, N.Y. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects, International Association for the Study of Traditional Environments, and SoHo Community Council. He has been teaching at NYIT as an adjunct associate professor since 1977. |
