Progression: Press Room - NYIT Media Policy
New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) enjoys positive relationships with members of the
press and welcomes opportunities to assist with news articles and stories that help to advance the college’s mission.
In addition, the college actively participates in and supports the Fair Media Council in its efforts
to assure fair and accurate news reporting and communication by the media.
To continue its productive interaction with the media, the college has established the following
guidelines:
- Reporters, editors and others in the press who wish to interview members of the NYIT
community should contact the Office of Communications and Marketing at 516.686.7481
during regular business hours or 516.852.1864 nights and weekends. Our goal is to
expedite your request and direct your query to an NYIT expert or spokesperson for quick response.
- Should you require access to one of our campuses, kindly contact the Office of
Communications and Marketing for authorization. A member of the Office of
Communications and Marketing will escort you and associates, including film crews, and
photographers, while on site.
- Please be aware that any use of still or video photography filmed on campus for
commercial profit or distribution must be reviewed and approved in advance by the
Office of Communications and Marketing. The use of still or video images from the
campus for advocacy of political positions or candidacies is strictly prohibited.
- Access to residence halls is prohibited without prior permission of the Office of
Communications and Marketing.
- In compliance with privacy laws, faculty, staff and students who agree to be interviewed or filmed will be required to complete a media release.
