NYIT Co-hosts International Energy Forum and Exhibition in South Korea
Thursday, March 8

Old Westbury, N.Y. - New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) and Uiduk University co-hosted an international energy forum on Feb. 26 - 28 in Daegu, South Korea, where Korean scholars, Dr. Guiliano speaks at the International Energy Forumcorporate leaders, and policymakers discussed sustainable energy solutions. The International Energy Conference and Exhibition, chaired by NYIT's Dean Harold S. Oh, Ph.D., included a speech delivered by NYIT President Edward Guiliano, Ph.D., about NYIT's commitment to lowering the planet's dependency on fossil fuels through research and development, as well as projects such as the Solar Decathlon. Bruce Baek, NYIT visiting assistant professor of communication arts, served as the conference's executive director of production and programming, and Herbert Fox, NYIT professor of mechanical engineering, helped organize the event.

Anwarul K. Chowdhury, Under-Secretary-General and High Representative of the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries, and Small Island Developing States of United Nations, gave the keynote address. His appearance was especially meaningful as the United Nations' Poverty and Environment Facility in Nairobi is helping developing countries integrate sound environment management into their poverty reduction and growth policies.

As a result of its success, the conference will become an annual event. To read President Guiliano's speech, click here.
