Clubs and Organizations

Do you love theater or film? Have political aspirations? Enjoy spending time with other students from your ethnic background? You're sure to find a club or organization that fits your interests—and you'll make some great new friends in the process. Clubs are open to all NYIT students who have an interest in the organization’s activities.

Following is a list of some of NYIT’s student organizations. If you don’t see a club that fits your needs, let us know-new clubs are continually forming.

ADDO

Interested in graphic design or computer graphics? ADDO is a meeting ground for those who are passionate about using text and imagery to enhance communication. The club is separated into two parts, Graphic Designers and Computer Graphics. The club’s graphic designers create logos and artwork to enter in national competitions. Likewise, the computer graphics artists create animations to enter competitions such as MetroCAF, the NYC Metropolitan Area College Computer Animation Festival.

AMERICAN INSTITUTE FOR ARCHITECTURE STUDENTS (AIAS)

NYIT’s AIAS chapter is committed to serving as the voice for architecture students at NYIT. Through meeting and other events, AIAS promotes a better understanding of architecture, the field’s current challenges, and introduces students to some of the latest architectural innovations. A national organization, AIAS provides students with the opportunity to network with their peers from other colleges and universities.

AMERICAN MEDICAL STUDENT ASSOCIATION (AMSA)

Through the AMSA, the medical and pre-medical students learn about a variety of specializations and the most recent health care innovations. They also share information about their internships and residency programs as well as plan events such as blood drives and health fairs.

BEAR HUG

Bear Hug fosters a fun, flexible and supportive environment where the young intellectuals of NYIT come together to share ideas and inspiration. Members identify pertinent issues in the community and design, lead and implement community service projects.
