OUTCAST BASS ANGLERS

TOURNAMENT AND WEIGH-IN RULES

                                                       

1. Tournament lakes are off limits beginning 12:01 A.M. on the day the tournament is held on that lake.

Penalty: Disqualification from that tournament.

2. All boats must launch from and return to the designated launch site even if you do not catch fish. If you plan to leave early, you must notify another tournament participant, or leave a note on one of the tournament committees car windshield.

Penalty: Disqualification from that tournament and deduction of 2 lbs. off year end total weight of the anglers involved.

3. Every club member must show a valid fishing license to a designated tournament committee member prior to the first tournament the member fishes in. In N.Y. as of Oct. 1st a new license must be presented.

4. Your dues must be paid to fish in tournaments.

Penalty: Disqualification from that tournament and 2 lbs. off year end total weight.

5. You can only fish a tournament with a club member, or by yourself.

Penalty: Disqualification from that tournament.

6. Only you or you and a club member can fish a team tournament.

Penalty: Disqualification from that tournament.

7. Live bait is not permitted in tournaments.

Penalty: Club dismissal.

8. Gas engine trolling is not permitted. Only electric motor trolling is permitted.

Penalty: 2 lbs. off that tournaments weight.

9. Tournaments are fished with equal time, as to location, between the boater and the non boater in a 2 hour on 2 hour off, or 4 hour on 4 hour off format, unless agreed upon prior to the tournament. It is mandatory that the boater agrees to this if the non boater insists.

Penalty: After review by the tournament committee the penalty can be disqualification from that tournament. All complaints must be brought to the tournament committee prior to the weigh in.

10. When passing a slower or anchored boat, please watch your wake. Think safety and use good judgment.

11. The boat that is working an area has priority. Boats shall not pass within 50 feet of a boat already working an area, unless given permission.

Penalty: After 1 warning a 2nd occurrence will result in a 5 lb. penalty for the operator of the boat, off year end total weight. Any violation of this rule must be brought to the tournament committee's attention prior to the weigh in.

12. All fish must be caught by rod and reel, no netting, snagging, etc.

Penalty: Disqualification from that tournament.

13. No casting, pitching or flipping prior to the start of, or after the end of any tournament.

Penalty: 2 lbs. Off that tournaments weight.

14. All casting, pitching and flipping must be done from a boat.

Penalty: Disqualification from that tournament.

15. No culling of dead fish.

Penalty: Disqualification from that tournament.

16. A 4 oz. penalty will be assessed for each dead fish brought to the weigh in up to a maximum of 1 lb. per angler, per day of competition.

17. All boats participating in club tournaments must have at least one livewell equipped with a working aerator and or recirculator pump. A livewell that is found not working in 2 consecutive tournaments will result in disqualification from competition until it is repaired.

18. All fish must be brought to the weigh in scale in a proper tournament style bag with water in it. Failure to comply will disqualify those fish brought to the scale by other means.

19. A designated tournament committee member will be the official time-keeper for the purposes of starting and ending tournaments. We will use only his watch, synchronize your watch prior to the start of the tournament.  When the tournament ends, you must be within 100 yards of the launch and not fishing.

Penalty: 1 lb. per man per minute up to 5 minutes. After 5 minutes that boat will be disqualified. If you do not have enough weight to assess the penalty the remaining weight will come off your year end total.

20. Only the Golden Rule will be used for measuring fish at the weigh in.

21. Any short fish brought to the weigh in table, the angler will be assessed a 2 lb. penalty off that tournament's weight.

22. All fish will be measured by at least 2 tournament committee members.  All fish will be measured with their mouths closed regardless of any federal, state or local laws.

23. Fish cannot be transferred to another boat or person.

Penalty: Disqualification from that tournament.

24. Only 2 designated tournament committee members will preside over the weigh in. They will make the decisions as to weights and lengths. Any discrepancies will be ruled on by all the committee members present.

25. Dismissal of any club member will be voted on by the entire paid membership of the club and the majority vote will rule. Remember friendship, sportsmanship, courtesy and fair play is our motto.

26. All voting on club issues will be done only by club members who have paid their dues and are present when the vote is taken.

27. Draw Tournaments: All participants may share a ride to the lake with a partner of their choice. All participants must be at the designated ramps parking lot 1 hour before the start time of the tournament. Failure to be at the ramp 1 hour prior to the start or prior to the last draw of present contestants (whichever is later) will render the late anglers disqualified. Meaning their fish will not count towards tournament or yearly totals.

28. Any violations of the club rules must be brought to the attention of the tournament committee prior to the weigh in.
