A thirty year old woman came to the hospital complaining of intermittent fever and a productive cough for the past few mnonths. Other significant symptoms consisted of episodes of night sweats and progressive weight loss for at least a year. Upon questioning, the patient stated that she recentoly moved to the USA from the Caribbean one year ago and was living with some relative in a very crowded condition. The story that we could gather from a relative is that a X-ray taken right before coming to this country stated that the patient had a spot in her lung and a positive skin tine test. She was advised to seek medical attention but failed to do so until all the symptoms mentioned seem to worsen. The patient was admitted for further investigations. How would you manage this case? |
